Reg you were a great friend to Tony and i and you taught Liana so patiently on the guitar.
Discussions were lively but fun.xx

Reg, although it’s 50 years since you taught me woodwork at Shephalbury, the lessons remain with me to this day and are still some of the most useful things I learned. I also remember with great fondness our trips to the Lakes; on one occasion you were driving the minibus, singing “Like a rubber ball I’ll come bouncing back to you – bouncy bouncy, bouncy bouncy…” while at the same time bouncing up and down on the drivers’ seat. Most of all I remember you being one of the few teachers who treated us as if we were adults, with trust, understanding and respect. You will be warmly remembered and sorely missed by many people.

Mr Whifin, as he will always be to me, taught me Technical Drawing and was Head of Year for me from 1972-1974. I have many inspirational memories of that time. As a great teacher and human being he lives on in the lives he helped to shape.
